How to Play Would You Rather

To play Would You Rather, read out two tough options, then every player must commit to one — no abstaining and no "neither" — and defend that choice out loud before you move on to the next dilemma.

1. Gather your players and pick a category. Two or more people is enough. Choose a category that suits the room, from Funny to Deep, or leave it on random.
2. Read both options out loud. Generate a question and read the two options to the group so everyone is weighing the exact same impossible choice.
3. Everyone must commit to one. Go around the group and have each player pick option one or option two. No abstaining, no "neither", no inventing a third answer — the forced choice is the whole game.
4. Defend your choice. Each player says why they picked what they picked. The arguments are where the laughs come from, especially when two friends split on an "obvious" answer.
5. Move on to the next dilemma. Once everyone has chosen and defended, generate the next question and do it again. Keep going while the debates stay fun.

The rules of Would You Rather

• You have to pick one. Even if you hate both options, choosing the lesser evil is the point — "I wouldn't do either" is not an answer.
• No third options. You can't tweak the scenario to make it easier. Take the dilemma exactly as written.
• Everyone answers. Go round the whole group so no one hides behind the loudest player.
• Say why. A choice without a reason is boring — the defence is what turns a question into a conversation.
• There are no wrong answers. Nobody scores and nobody loses; the goal is the argument, not a winner.

After a few rounds, switch it up with the fast preferences in This or That, the group voting of Most Likely To, or the confessions in Never Have I Ever.
